A while ago, I brought up the question of whether or not to change the extension for the DmC pages from (DmC) to something else. The discussion, posted on Talk:Dante (DmC) was not in a readily visible place, and kind of got forgotten about, so, I'm officially posting the question here.
To me, the (DmC) designation sounds too much (or exactly like) DMC, the original game. I proposed to change it to (Ninja Theory), but it had also been suggested to change it to (Reboot). There are other options, such as using the release date, (2013). Do any of my fellow Devil Hunters have any suggestions or opinions?Read more >

At this year's Game Developers Conference, Ninja Theory's Visual Art Director Alessandro Taini spoke about the visual style changes in the re-boot of Devil May Cry. Taini would discus how fashion, music, architecture and art influenced Ninja Theory's decision's when they explored how to bring Dante and Devil May Cry into the new game.
The challenge with creating Dante was simply reinventing a popular hero. Looked to various types of Western media to find inspiration.
Fight Club: It's cool! Very grounded in a hollywood movie.
The pillars of Dante's new design were: Cool, Western, Grounded in reality, but stylish

I have been observing the blogs here (not just here) for awhile and noticed that there are some seriously rude people. Is it because we're on computers and that no one can see each other that were so freaking rude to each other? Seriously, what happened to civility? I've seen bad behavior from hot-headed gamers from supposed marines or navy personnel. I'm not trying to single anyone out, really I'm not, but seriously, do we have to be that rude to each other on expressing our opinions? This attitude is the main reason I particularly dislike going on wikis in the first place. Is it that hard to be nice to someone who doesn't share your opinion?

If Jim Logan can put his fanfic on here as a blog post, then so can I. I've been working on a fanfic for a one year, and, at the moment, I only have an obsolete set of pages and a reboot title page to show for it. So, this fanfic is different for two reasons: 1. It has self-immersion by the author. 2. It goes by, what I am referring to as, the Anobi Timeline and, in that way, completely separates itself from the Capcom canon. 3. It's a comic, which is why it is on Deviant art. If you want to se it, here is a link to the new title page: http://thedarksparda.deviantart.com/#/d5sjvf9Read more >

Well I'm back again and here are my thoughts
based on the first level.
- Style: the style meter in this game has been drastically..... easier, to be blunt. I found myself already at A rank by the time i finished with about 6 enemies.
- Controls: as expected before, they were surprisingly nice but still, NO LOCK ON BUTTON?! Also, why'd did they have to change stinger? Playing around with Arbiter and Osiris led to very fun combos.
- Cinematics: really Ninja Theory? I can appreciate staring at a nice lady but there's something very tacky about watching some angel dressed strippers dance around with close ups on their crotch. Also, the start screen is pretty ugly in my opinion.
- Graphics: I admit it, they're
goodBEAUTIFUL. Limbo was really nicely designed…
DmC: Devil May Cry has gotten plenty of attention since it's announcement, beginning with a huge negative response to the redesign of beloved main character, Dante. As more information and gameplay was released, the game has slowly morphed into its own identity. The game's signature hack-and-slash, beat-em up style has a fresh new coat of paint. The wait for the game has been arduous and slow, but now the verdict is in! Was the reboot well received? Or does this game pale in comparison to the previous games in the series? Take a look!
Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments!

How old is Dante? If they keep making prequels we're going to have a Dante in diapers. DMC2 Dante I can see late twenties. DMC1 mid-twenties, DMC3 late teens, and DMC4 early thirties. So that makes DmC Dante what, mid-teens? As to the thirty-year-old guess, Dante's brash and rebellious attitude doesn't seem to fit the mellowed-out and matured behavior (according to society's standards) of a thirty year old. Anyone got an opinion?Read more >
Literally just finished playing one level of the demo of DmC: Devil May Cry, and my honest-to-goodness first impression? Where is the barf bag... Not because the game was that bad, but the constantly adjusting (and adjusted) camera gave me motion sickness. Urp...
The biggest threat in the game are those damn bottomless pits...on normal mode, I didn't die once to the enemies. I guess they expected that because my mission score wasn't affected by falling into the pit. DT was also a let-down... I activated it only to find all the enemies that were literally right next to me were now dangling hopelessly out of reach, and by the time I remembered how to lift/pull and smack one twice, DT was over. F-you, too, Ninja Theory.
I have to agree with som…Read more >
Ah yes so I've downloaded the DmC demo released yesterday and here's some quick thoughts:
- Game Controls:
They weren't that bad at all once I started playing it. However, the only let down would be the lack of the "lock on" button, I mean would it be that hard to put it in? Especially with the shoulder buttons both being evades it seems redundant. Aside from that, everything flowed quite nicely.
The overall design was quite nice although they did do quite a bit of repeating with the building designs in the first level. I liked how all the colours and lines were crisp and popped. Devil trigger mode changing everything into black/white/red was beautiful.

Hi, I am QueenShebaPunch (I'm from the Bayonetta wiki), and just recently started playing the "classic" DMC series, the trilogy version. Sad to say, once I started, I knew there was going to be some sort of reboot or whatnot for the series, which kind of suck because the "classic" has a very solid story. Here's my question, is DmC a reboot of the "classic" series or an alternate universe?Read more >
DmC: Devil May Cry is the newest Devil May Cry installment and plenty of things are different this time around. Developed by Ninja Theory, DmC is a fresh approach to the action/hack-and-slash series. While the game will follow the exploits of Dante, the game is set in an alternate universe.
In DmC, Dante is a young man with supernatural powers who finds himself under attack by demons infested within a sentient town known as Limbo City. What differences can we expect between this fresh new start and the games that came previously? Let’s take a look at some of the story and gameplay features between the games of Devil May Cry.
A demo for DmC: Devil May Cry is set for release in December.

Let me start by saying, I know the official order of the games is Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry, The Animated Series, Devil May Cry 4, and and Devil May Cry 2. Don't flame me for what I'm about to say.
Also, let me say that I am personally hoping that "Dante" in DMC2 is actually Vergil. He's a cool character that I'd like to bring back. If what I am about to say ends up as true (it won't,) then Vergil isn't coming back, and that makes me a sad Devil Hunter.
But, here's a theory:
What if the order of events was: the manga, Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry Volume 2, Devil May Cry 2, The Animated Series, and then Devil May Cry 4?
Here's my logic:
The events up to DMC1 happen as normal, but then the events of Goikeda's second novel happen, whic…Read more >
I'd like to share a special moment with you all: My first anniversary on this wiki! Ok, I'm a week or so late for the actual anniverstary, but I'm close enough! I didn't actually notice the anniversary had arrived until after it already passed, and then I put off writing about it for a few more days because I'm lazy.
So, how has this wiki changed in a year? Well, in the year since I've been here...
- We've grown by about 100 pages.
- We wrote walkthroughs for DMC 1 and are in the process of making a walkthrough for 2.
- We added the navbars at the bottom of most of the game-related pages.
- Our stock of pictures has increased by about 400.
- We enabled and customized achievements.
- We revamped the category system.
- We overhauled our wiki theme and background…
I know, it's short, but I had to rewrite it multiple times and I went through a ton of drafts, but who cares? Part two of my fan fiction is finished. Just so you know, it has multiple cusses, so those who frown upon that kind of stuff might not enjoy those segments all too much, but I suggest you read it, I'm hoping for someone to like it. I'm going to try to get to writing part three soon enough, but as of now, I'm in some personal trouble, so that might be a while.
