Doppelganger Style
From Devil May Cry Wiki
The Doppelganger Style is a shadow-controlling style appearing in Devil May Cry 3 which is obtained from Doppelganger. It allows Dante to create copies of himself to assist in battle[1], thus allowing him to experiment with different tactics and combos.[2] The Doppelganger wields the gun and Devil Arm equipped to Dante when it was created, and performs those weapons' analogues to whichever actions Dante performs.

[edit] Doppelganger the Deathvoid
Doppelganger is a malevolent shadow demon able to take the shape of its foe by refracting light. As a being of shadow, however, it can be paralyzed by shining light on it. In shadow, it imitates Dante's Rebellion Devil Trigger, while in light it resembles Dante himself.[3]
When Dante first enters Doppelganger's lair, Dante mocks him for trying to "ask [him] some questions", saying that he's already answered them to himself. After defeating Doppelganger, Dante receives its soul as an attack Style.

[edit] Background
A Doppelgänger (lit. "doublewalker" in German) is a ghostly double of a living person, often considered an omen of one's death. They are said to cast no shadow and have no reflection, and are supposed to provide advice to the person they resemble, though this advice is often misleading or malicious.
[edit] Trivia
Dante is the final enemy of Devil May Cry 4's Bloody Palace mode. When playing as Dante, the enemy will be an all black version of Dante, most likely a reference to the Doppelganger.
Doppelganger is similar to both the Plasma, in its ability to mimic its opponent's shape, and the Shadow, in its composition.
