Griffon
"You! Are you the human, the son of Sparda, who challenges the Darkness Mundus?"
― Griffon, Devil May Cry

Griffon is a demonic bird with the power to control lightning. It is oversized and can defeat the strongest of warriors. It has the added advantages of flying and shooting red lightning, which travels at insanely fast speeds. He also has a razor sharp beak and always dives towards Dante during battle. He first appears in the castle garden after Dante acquires the Ifrit gauntlets. Next, he fights Dante aboard the ship of souls. He finally fights Dante for the last time inside the Colosseum. When you get to 1/3rd of his health, his left wing will fall off and he'll use ground-based attacks. When he is defeated, he begs for Mundus' aid. Mundus responds by mercilessly killing him (Mundus argues that Griffon has failed him too many times). Griffon also appears in Devil May Cry 2 as part of Argosax the Chaos' "blob" form.
