Infestant

From Devil May Cry Wiki

Infestant

Infestants are demon parasites searching for a suitable host (Can be living or a vehicle - such as a Tank or Helicopter). In their normal form they appear as large insects that lunge at their enemies. Infestants are able to take a number of different host and when they find a suitable host such as the case with the Infested Tank & Infested Helicopter a large bulging eye grows in the area where the infestant remains. Infested Tanks and Infested Helicopters gain a large amount of demonic energy that allow them to continually spawn ammunition to use against the Devil Hunters. Equip the Electro heart and use your speed to dodge attacks and strike back hard.

The infestants have a strong resemblance with the chimera seed as both can parasite, and from which they grow stronger doing so. The infestant are most likely never seen using a living being as a host, but more often using the previously mentioned Tanks and Helicopters in which doing so, they turn into Bosses, being the Infested Tank a powerful but incredibly vulnerable foe that due to its size, it can only rotate its cannon (which will never aim the player at close range, and if it does a direct shot is practically impossible) making them only High HP demons but defensless (although some of them have minor demons like puias or flambats around them) that are best used for stylish grade developing and orb collection. The Infested Helicopter is indeed harder as it never remains still, has attacks such as gattling gun shooting and rocket launching, also as it is (by obvious reasons) flying most of the time, the player has no other option than use their firearms rather than their blades/devilarms. Even with such advantages for the infested chopper (helicopter) they have not a really high ammount of HP for a boss, therefore a Devil Trigger-Firearm combo with the electric heart should make the battle much easier.

Since the Infestants mainly parasite machines they cannot at all infest living beings or they cannot infest powerful beings (as even if the infestants cannot really infest the players at all even though they can still damage them) imply that it is easier for them to parasite "something" with no life, thus they use machines, and/or the infestants have a certain level of knowledge regarding the weapons from the Human World, which is not at all impossible since the lower ranking demons are the ones who inhabitate the Human World the most within the demons. However they merely appear on the player's way towards the Uroboros building, implying also that them parasiting machines can also be work of Arius.
